Yesterday we witnessed one of the most closely contested grand finals in the history of the Super Senior Pennant competition since its inception in 2002.
The magnificent Wyong Golf Course was the host venue for this grand final and what an expertly prepared layout it proved to be, so much so that neither finalist team, Forster-Tuncurry nor Cronulla could bring the course or their opponents to their knees. The NSWSSGA Committee sincerely thank the Wyong GC for providing such an outstanding venue at which to play this prestigious final.
The eventual outcome was a 4/4 result, but with Forster-Tuncurry crowned 2026 champions with an overall 16/10 aggregate match winning differential.
We congratulate both teams on their competitive spirit, but equally on the respect that each player demonstrated for his opponent during the contest. Again, reflecting what makes Super Senior golf great.
So ends the running of the 23rd year of this competition, but as always, lots more to be done, so the Committee will meet on Friday to start work on the 2027 Pennant and Championship events.
