NSW SSGA held its 15th Annual Championship at the highly regarded Ryde Parramatta GC on the 4th May 2026. The strong field of 108 attracted players from the North & South Coast as well as metropolitan, with Prizes totaling $2000+.

A stableford gross & net event in below age categories was held. Shotgun start at 8.30am where light rain fell for 2 hours making it not ideal weather, but with the course in outstanding condition. White tees Course rating 135.

73+yrs: 35 players

This was our second use of Golf Genius to assist with scoring & tournament management. Registrations were made directly on our website via the golf Genius system. Many players successfully used the contact feature on the website with a 24 hour turnaround.
As Monday 4th May arrived, we had 108 confirmed players for the day. All went well with registration and the field started on time, although with some cloud coverage.
As the morning progressed so did the precipitation which made conditions challenging. However, the fairways and greens were in great shape and a credit to the ground staff. A few tricky pin placements proved to be a challenge on the slick greens, but they were rolling true if you could pick the right line.
On the day our major sponsor Golf World/Golf Mart provided $1500.00 in prize money for all our overall and age division prizes. Congratulations to the following winners:

We then held a raffle with 4 prizes valued at $250.00 each which included a Ping umbrella and a dozen Titleist Pro V 1 golf balls and a Titleist Cap thanks to our raffle prize sponsors. Please support our great sponsors where possible for the ensuing 12 months.
All players enjoyed a well prepared two course luncheon at Villagio’s restaurant within RPGC Clubhouse. Compliments & thanks were made to RPGC Event manager & staff, Club & Vice Captain, Pro shop & 7 marshalling volunteers who assisted on the day.
Thank you also to Championship Coordinators Steve Turner & Paul Stephenson together with the NSW Committee in planning and execution to ensure a pleasurable & successful event.
The committee already has its eye in how it can further improve the logistics of the day recognising the distances some players travel to attend and look forward to doing it again in 2027.
